Brunch in Coral Gables – Pre Couple’s Shower
August 24, 2017
The weekend of July 14th was my Bachelorette Party and Couple’s Shower in Miami. Whilst I’m not getting married until April of 2018, it was the only time I could get all of my bridesmaids together to celebrate before the wedding. You see, one of my bridesmaids lives in Australia. She happened to be coming to America for work during July so we decided to capitalize on her time here and knock off both the Bachelorette Party and Couple’s Shower all in one fell swoop of a trip to Miami.
Bachelorette festivities were everything I could have ever asked for! Unfortunately (or fortunately) for you, I did not document any of it for my blog as I really wanted to enjoy the time with my girls. I have to share a few of the activities we did, though, because they were just too incredible to keep to myself. One of the restaurants we went to was called Juvia. Oh. My. Goodness. Everything about it was superb: the view of Miami Beach, the cocktails (dangerously delicious), and, of course, the food. If you’re a sucker for truffles, like I am, their special truffle risotto is a must as it disappeared from my plate very quickly!
One of the most fun activities on the list (and there were a lot!) was the dinner and a show at El Tucan. You’re practically transported to Havana, Cuba. Our booth was right on the side of the stage with the perfect view of the entertainment. However, as the night progressed, we jumped out of our seats and were dancing alongside the entertainers. All of us left El Tucan with the biggest smiles frozen on our faces. Such a fun night. So, if you’re in Miami, I highly recommend checking out those two places for a guaranteed brilliant time.
Anyway, back to the purpose of this blog. The morning of our Couple’s Shower, we decided to get a group together and have a delicious and relaxing brunch at Threefold Cafe in Coral Gables. Their menu is supposedly based on the Australian cuisine which, coincidentally, was very similar to our very own American go-to brunch.
This was the first time I saw Eddie post-Bachelorette, so it was lovely to connect before we were about to be inundated with love (and questions!) from our guests at the Couple’s Shower.
The gang consisted of all bridesmaids, the Best Man, and a couple parentals.
Struggling to decide what to get (it all looked too tempting). The almond milk cappuccinos and freshly squeezed mango juice were exactly what the doctor ordered after the week’s festivities.
Threefold was the perfect setting for a great catch-up!
Great motivation from Dr. Seuss himself as I was incredibly nervous to meet so many new and unfamiliar guests at the Couple’s Shower in a few hours! Nobody really prepares you for times like this when anxiety and nerves kick in. It was definitely brilliant to have this time to decompress before the craziness began.
The portions were quite large, which suited our big appetites that morning. This dish was called the ‘Phenomenal Funghi‘ which had goat cheese and truffle oil. What more could you want?!
So much avocado! Absolute heaven. This was appropriately called the ‘Smashed Avo.’
Me with all my bridesmaids. My Maid of Honor, Charlotte (furthest on the right), coordinated the lovely brunch. So, major kudos goes out to her!
A mushy gushy couple’s shot and an even mushier gushier Best Man and Groom shot.
Of course, I had to squeeze one in with my gorgeous parents. Dad played photographer at this brunch and Couple’s Shower. I cannot wait to show you those pictures in my next wedding post!
We left the restaurant with full bellies and even fuller hearts. Next up was an outfit change for the Couple’s Shower at my future mother-in-law’s house.

Get yourself to Threefold Cafe if you’re in the Gables (as they call it). You won’t be disappointed.
My next wedding post will cover everything about our incredible Couple’s Shower so, stay tuned!
