Summer Linen Pieces
June 25, 2020
It might be overkill for me to say this again, but I cannot stop touting my love for linen enough! As one of the most sustainable fabrics (hemp and bamboo are even better), it is wonderfully versatile for almost all seasons (save Denver winters…) garnering use throughout the year. However, linen is most notably associated with summer time, so, I figured I’d do a round up of some of my favourite linen pieces – new & old!
Everlane Puff-Sleeve Top (c/o)
An incredibly romantic, Provence-esque linen puffer top has me dreaming of romps through the countryside the moment traveling can resume. This top fills the perfect void in my wardrobe and right now I can only pair it with dungarees but I think this will look beautiful with a pair of jeans once I can fit back into those. (:
I’m not sure I’ve ever owned a pair of linen pants before and for my first pair to be so incredible is a strike of luck! Every time I wear these, I get compliments from Eddie and am called Princess Jasmine (: They might also be one of only two pairs of pants that still fits me at the moment so I’ve genuinely been living in them where possible. I typically pair them with this Pact Stretch-Fit Tank that’s equally as comfy. It’s currently in the 90’s here in Denver so these have truly been a godsend in this heat!
Linenfox Wrap Dress
Probably one of the most worn linen pieces in my wardrobe is this Linenfox Mimosa Dress that I have in Pine Green (last seen here) and recently purchased it in Natural Grey as well (that’s how much I love this beauty!). If you were to invest in one new linen item this summer, this dress would be my recommendation. The wrap feature is the best I’ve found on any dress (it helps that the material is linen so the ‘wrap’ never comes undone), it has pockets (holla!), and the sizing is very forgiving making it perfect for a growing bump or any quarantine weight gain!
Everlane Linen Picnic Jumpsuit (c/o)
I said to myself at the beginning of my pregnancy that I wanted to refrain from buying maternity clothes where possible and am grateful that summer allows long flowy dresses to accommodate a growing bump. Well, this jumpsuit does an equally wonderful job! I ordered this a size up to be more forgiving throughout my pregnancy and still feel comfortable knowing I’ll fit into this postpartum. The straps are adjustable, the belt can easily sit above a baby bump or more along my waist once I’ve given birth, and the bust has a built-in elastic band making it comfortable for the ever-growing baby feeding machines. (:
Pyne & Smith Overalls (c/o)
Whilst I’m on the topic of overalls, another favourite of mine are these overalls from Pyne & Smith Clothier (last seen here). Joanna (fellow Brit residing in Southern California) makes exceptionally well-made pieces from European linen. I own her overalls as well as this dress (last seen here) and cannot speak highly enough about just how damn comfy her pieces are! I’ve worn her overalls year-long, alternating between t-shirts or jumpers underneath to match the climate.
