Monthly Playlist – October

Monthly Playlist – October

October 9, 2017

I decided to do something a little different for my Monthly Playlist this month. Typically I curate a playlist of the songs I’m into but really make sure they flow well together in a playlist. I went through all the songs I’ve played at least 50 times (no exaggeration. I have an addictive personality and, unfortunately, I play songs until I kill them) last month and compiled them in this playlist. By no means is the playlist cohesive, but it’s a true reflection of a.) my personality and b.) all the different levels of my emotions in the month of September.

September was a bit of an emotional rollercoaster for me. Not because of anything traumatic, but it all stemmed from a lack of sleep. Sounds crazy saying that out loud but it’s true. Unfortunately, I have elephants living above me and our apartment building was built using rice paper for floors. Compound that with construction (starting at 6am every morning) next door and a loud main highway two streets down and you’ve got one tired Saffy! “Wear ear plugs!” you might be saying. Tried that. They fall out. I’ve felt like sleep deprivation became a form of torture in the month of September and I was on the verge of a nervous breakdown. Not joking. Thankfully (in the nick of time!) I had a trip planned to Florida for a week. I didn’t manage to sleep in much (with work and what not) but when I did sleep – boy was it heaven. Total tranquility. This trip absolutely recharged my batteries and lowered my stress levels to return back to LA.

Alright, enough of that pity party. Whilst this playlist doesn’t mesh together, there are some brill songs on here that I hope you love!

1. Passin’ Me By – The Pharcyde

2. Don’t – Zoe Kravitz

7. 9 to 5 – Dolly Parton
