Monthly Playlist – November

Monthly Playlist – November

November 2, 2017

It’s now the beginning of November which means my train of thought went something like this today when deciding what November’s Monthly Playlist was going to consist of:

Halloween is over which means the next holiday will be Christmas (I don’t really care for Thanksgiving – sorry to my American followers). This then had me thinking about the annual Nutcracker ballet I go to every December. Billy Elliot then popped to mind (naturally) and I instantly thought about its fantastic soundtrack.

So, this month’s playlist will be an ode to Billy Elliot’s brilliant and revolutionary soundtrack with a very heavy Marc Bolan focus. I also finally watched the movie Baby Driver which is fantastic! If you have not seen it, do yourself a favour and rent it. Its soundtrack is another brilliant one (‘Debora’ below is pulled from it) and inspired this monthly playlist. This era of music is probably my favourite. I’ll make sure to create a playlist of some of my top artists including ELO, Supertramp, Ozzy Osbourne, etc.

I hope you get taken back to a time of long hair, black eyeliner and questionable fashion tastes.

P.S. I’ve thrown in a picture of me from high school performing my first solo piece as Arabian in The Nutcracker.
