Walkin’ After Midnight
November 14, 2017
The days are getting shorter and temperatures are dropping (still, not too much yet in LA). This means that the dark colours from my wardrobe come out to play. As a self-proclaimed ex-Banana Republic lover and frequent shopper, I still wear many of the pieces I purchased years ago. One of my favourites is this blouse. The boxy cut works perfectly with a pair of skinny jeans while the cut out the back gives it that subtle feminine touch. Your bra will show in this top so, if you cannot skip, you’ll need stick-ons. Depending on how brave I feel, I’ll skip all-together! (Which is what I did below and I think you can hardly tell, right?)
I paired this top with a pair of Loft jeans I’ve also owned for years. A more flattering and ethical pair would be these Everlane ones which I’m still dying to get my hands on. They sold out within days of their launch and just recently restocked their inventory. Christmas wish list much?

I was excited to wear my (other) new Kulani Kinis watch in ‘Midnight.’ This pattern is based off of their existing bikini ‘Midnight’ design – take a look at what an absolute bombshell their model is in the one piece!
The Midnight has rose gold accents that beautifully compliment the floral colours on the face. I rarely wear rose gold, but have a small collection of pieces gathered over the years that I pulled out to compliment the watch nicely!
My trusty Tory Burch quilt bag is one of the only black handbags I own! The beauty of this bag is that I can wear it easily with both casual and more dressed up outfits. The strap slides to either a single strap over your shoulder (much like the Chanel Le Boy) or you can double strap it like I’ve shown here.
I love how vibrant the colours on the Midnight watch just pop in contrast with the black outfit!
The mules are Jessica Simpson if you can believe it (Nordstrom purchase I believe). These are old old old and purchased before the mule trend became a ‘thing.’ I love dressing them up and down and mixing them with bottoms you wouldn’t typically expect to pair with the mules (like a pleated skirt).
