My most recent favourite steal is from Eddie’s closet – a men’s blazer. I stumbled across this in our wardrobe a few months ago and decided that it looked better on me than him. Ha! Needless to say, I’ve stolen it for my own (okay, he totally told me to take it as he never wore it).
I absolutely love marrying masculine and feminine styles where possible. A men’s blazer is the perfect way to do this and create a beautifully balanced look. Paired with some skinny jeans and you’ve got a flattering outfit. I guarantee if you rummaged through your dad’s, grandpa’s (he’s probably got the best options!), and/or significant other’s wardrobes you’d find some beauties ready to be stolen (or borrowed, I’m not condoning taking things that don’t belong to you, I just so happen to be inheriting pieces from my family that they no longer wear. Perfect secondhand opportunities).
Popping on a pair of strappy heels with these skinny jeans really helps bring out the feminine side of this look. These Steve Madden shoes are my go-to for dressing up any outfit. Steve Madden is not a brand I would condone but I definitely struggle to find ethical strappy shoes like these. I don’t know why that is. I’ve searched and searched and cannot find an affordable pair that would work as an alternative; this is the only thing I found that could work. Typically ethical companies try to make styles that last and are not trendy. Classic pieces. I don’t think these shoes could ever go out of style, so why are there no ethical version available?

Tip: I learned a trick from blogger Aimee Song in one of her YouTube videos about how to keep the men’s blazer sleeves up. If we left the baggy sleeves down, it would drown our smaller frames. Use elastic hair ties on the outside of the sleeves and push up. Pull a little excess sleeve out of the elastics and voila! Super simple and effective.

I hope you enjoyed how I style my blazer! I’ve replaced my typical women’s black blazer for evenings out with this blazer and have received multiple compliments. Give it a shot! I think you’ll find it fun to experiment with new styles and old pieces.
