Beret Excited for France
March 26, 2018
We’re officially 1 month away from our wedding day. Eek! If you don’t already know, our wedding is in the southwest of France and then our honeymoon will consist of driving around as much of France as we can in 8 days which means planning as many Parisian and French-countryside-type outfits as possible. Clearly this is a priority amongst wedding planning, right?
This Reformation beret is definitely on my packing list. Doesn’t every girl dream of having that tres chic outfit pulled together by a slick black beret? I sure did, and I’ve finally found the one to fulfill this fantasy. A gift for Christmas, this bad boy has been crying to be worn for weeks (nay, months) now, but this LA weather has been unpredictable lately so I’ve been saving for a special occasion. Finally, I broke the seal and now this hat will become a staple in my wardrobe any opportunity I get.
Unfortunately, I was gifted with a big(ish) head so hats are typically ordered a size up from what most girls would get. This beret, however, fits like a glove!
I paired this look with an old pair of houndstooth Banana Republic pants I had which elevated the outfit. It’s now perfect for grabbing drinks with the girls or a date night with that special someone. Otherwise, I’d absolutely attempt pairing it with a pair of vintage Levis (like the ones seen here) for a more casual “I’m just popping to the local cafe for coffee and a croissant” look. You know, the ush.

Throw on a red lip and you’re the quintessential Jeanne Damas in this girly look.
Also, I swore to myself in middle school when I saw all the cool girls wearing kitty heels that I’d never in my life wear a pair – so help me god. But when Everlane makes a pair that gives me a wee bit of sophistication and doesn’t make this already super tall girl look like an amazon… how can I resist? Never say never, folks! I promise you, this purchase was not because of any trend, it really is an incredibly well-made shoe and a versatile addition to my wardrobe.
Needless to say, I’m beret excited for France and cannot wait to show you all of our destinations once I return. Don’t worry, we’ll be capturing as many moments as we can without compromising our honeymoon 🙂
