Honeymoon Day 2 – Provence Pt.1
June 19, 2018
If you haven’t already read honeymoon day 1, go here and do that before you continue with this one. Also, if you’re following along via VLOG, I’ve uploaded another one here to get you up to speed! The last thing you would’ve read was that we arrived in Provence, drank lots of red wine, and fell asleep. Standard.
The next day we woke up and began our explorations of Provence! First up was Gordes, the town we were staying in (at La Bastide de Gordes).
We got dressed and popped to the town for breakfast and some shopping – duh.
I bought two hats at this stand where the owner proceeded to have long and detailed conversations with us in French assuming we were totally locals. We did, however, manage to pick up on one thing: the straw hat was called a canotier and was most associated with the style of Maurice Chevalier who is like a French Fred Astaire.
We wandered around some more and I learned that wedges were maybe not the best idea for cobbled streets, but, damn these shoes are still so comfy!
How picturesque is this place?
I matched the shutters so we had to snap a few pics!
Jean jacket (thrifted – but similar here)
Reformation Dress (thrifted and sold out on Reformation’s website – sorry!)

The shopping continued…
I spoke to the designer of the dresses in the shop and loved chatting with her so much that I bought three dresses! Oops! Her dresses are all so unique and I found it irresistible to support a local artist after the heartfelt conversations we had. Their store doesn’t have much online, but she gave me her business card and her website is www.brindete.com so, go check them out!
“The dress only costs this much?!?!”
I was so in love with my purchases that I immediately changed outfits – anyone else do this?!

My toes were covered in plasters from dancing the night away in my wedding shoes! The shoes were dead comfy, I just couldn’t stop dancing!
We then headed to Apt in search of lavender fields, but were disappointed to find out that it wasn’t in season.
Exploring Apt was delightful nonetheless!
I couldn’t resist buying some fresh lavender soap!
After Apt we visited Saint-Saturnin-les-Apt which was a beautifully deserted little town tucked away with a gorgeous view of Provence.
Ummm hello! Who is this handsome man?! (Btw his shirt is Everlane and one my all time favourites!)
Feeling completely satisfied with our wanderings around this magical place, we retired back to our hotel for dinner (I told you it was so good there!). The next day was by far my absolute favourite day of the honeymoon! Stay tuned for Part II of Provence up next!
