Honeymoon Day 2 – Provence Pt.2

Honeymoon Day 2 – Provence Pt.2

July 23, 2018

It’s been a while since my last honeymoon update, so as a refresher, we just finished exploring Apt and Saint-Saturnin-les-Apt. (You can recap on that post here if you need to.) The next day we headed to L’Isle-sur-la-Sorgue to catch their famous farmers market and (spoiler alert) this was my absolutely favourite part of Provence! I wore one of the dresses I got from the boutique in Gordes that I talked about here.

We were met with beautiful music around every street corner.

The food – unbelievable! We got a massive bag of olives to enjoy throughout the rest of our road trip up to Paris and boy were they scrumptious. Even Eddie, the non-olive-lover, enjoyed them!

I bought myself a quintessential French basket and filled it with all sorts of goodies from the market (including the aforementioned olives).

We could’ve gotten lost for hours roaming the back alleys of L’Isle-sur-la-Sorgue.

After a wonderful morning at the market, we noticed a poppy field on our way back to the hotel and, of course, couldn’t resist a pit stop for an outfit change (ha!) into this Reformation dress (last seen here) and some pictures.

How absolutely stunning is this?

I very much felt like Julie Andrews as I pranced around this field.

Needing a wee coffee pick-me-up, we headed back to our hotel, The Bastide de Gordes, and enjoyed the beautiful view over a delicious cafe au lait.

In order to get to our dinner at Le Champ de Lunes, we decided to go through Lacoste and explore the deserted, cobbled town.

More stunning (although cloudy) views of Provence.

Fresh figs adorned the trees just outside of what looks like an abandoned boulangerie.

Another quiet town, Lacoste offered beauty around every corner. This seems a common theme with each town we visited in Provence…

This was our last day in Provence before making the drive up towards Paris. Provence has so much beauty to it that I’ll definitely make the journey back, but I was incredibly keen for the next stop! Stay tuned for the final part of our honeymoon!

Love,

Saffy
