Wrap Me Up, Scotty!
July 25, 2018
Now that the summer heat wave is in full swing across the country, I’m shedding layers (read: sweatpants that I live in 24/7 while working at my desk) and searching for lighter, sweat-resistant pieces to brace for this wickedly hot weather. Everlane recently released a wrap dress collection that I’d heard really good things about and was keen to try. The material they use is called Japanese weave which is what this other Everlane dress I own is made of and withstood the Australian heat mid-summer. Knowing I loved the material, I was interested to see how the wrap would flatter my body. I purchased this dress right before my trip to Mexico hoping I could take it for a test run there, but alas, it only arrived upon my return.
Finding myself out and about more now that life has settled a wee bit post-wedding, I took this baby for a spin at the Rose Bowl Flea Market a few weeks ago and was tres pleased with the results. I’m now here to share those with you! 🙂
Pairing the dress with what seems to be my absolute go-to sandal this summer (they’ve definitely had more than 30 wears and the cost per wear must be down to pennies at this point!) I felt fit for tackling the summer heat.
Everlane Wrap Dress
Instead of defaulting to my new straw bag to finish the look, I decided to elevate the style a wee bit and pair it with this new Dooney & Bourke bag that they sent me to take for a spin! I religiously wear a vintage bag of theirs whenever I’m trying to incorporate brown leather into an outfit (you can see it here) so this was a lovely new addition to my closet! The subtle pop of orange on the underside of the strap is a lovely little touch too.
Happily, I feel the wrap dress is flattering from top to bottom. The length is perfect sitting above the knee and allowing for a cool breeze to sneakily slip up! The sleeves, whilst an odd length, struck a great balance between the comfort of a tank and the formality of a sleeved dress. And, of course, where the dress hits the waist really does flatter the body well!
This wrap dress paired with this chic bag makes me feel like I would blend perfectly at the Veuve Cliquot Polo match that just took place in Los Angeles a few weeks ago.

Overall, I’d give this wrap dress two big thumbs up and you’ll be sure to see me wearing it frequently throughout summer if you follow me on Instagram! Anyone else tried this dress yet?
