Auguste the Label

Besides, of course, finding incredible pieces at the thrift store (#1 sustainable thing to do for your wardrobe), I love discovering new ethical brands! I found myself defaulting to the usual brands (Everlane, Reformation, etc.) for so long that my wardrobe didn’t feel well-rounded and I didn’t feel inspired. Whilst I love my pieces from these brands, I also love supporting other (usually smaller) ethical brands. Knowing that I’m making a difference with my dollar absolutely helps me feel empowered even if it is only a small amount. But, hey, they say that every little bit counts and I wholeheartedly believe that. That’s why Simply Saffy was born. To slowly make a difference for our planet – one step at a time.
Today’s step is with a purchase from Auguste the Label.
I was doing my usual YouTube (favourite social media platform, by the way!) watching a few months back and saw that one of my favourite vegan YouTubers published a sponsored post (or story) about a dress she got from Auguste the Label. It looked so incredibly flattering, soft, and pretty to say the least! I immediately headed over to their website and poured over all of their beautiful dresses. The one I’m wearing particularly caught my eye! Truth be told, I was eyeing out the dress in the colour emerald (shocking, I know) but they were sold out of my size, so “settled” with navy and am still absolutely thrilled with my purchase.

After digging around their site for a bit, I noticed they participate in 1% for the Planet. They also have transparency (whilst not as much as Everlane’s) into their factories and fabrics used. The dress, for example, is 100% rayon. Doesn’t that name sounds scary and totally not sustainable?! After looking into it a little more, whilst still semi-synthetic, it’s plant-based and, therefore, more sustainable than fully synthetic materials like nylon and polyester which are derived from oil. Rayon also requires half the amount of energy as cotton! Did I mention that the fabric feels amazing on my skin?
Considering we’re heading into autumn soon, I may or may not have purchased myself a jumper from their site as well. Being able to take this dress through the seasons with me was something I had in mind whilst making such a late summer purchase! Can’t wait to show you that one once it gets a wee bit colder!

All in all, I’m tres happy with my purchase from Auguste the Label and I’d highly recommend taking a look at their beautiful and flattering ethical pieces. They’re Australian-based, so you know they’ve got that effortlessly, beautiful, summer-all-year-round, girly look down pat!
