Seed Phytonutrients Review

Seed Phytonutrients Review

March 14, 2019

I was recently sent Seed Phytonutrients to try with no expectation of a post, review, or any exposure whatsoever (so, you will know this is not sponsored). But, after trying it for a week I needed to get on here and write a proper review for y’all (<– am I allowed to say that if I’m British?) 😛

The integrity of their products:

  • Cruelty-free
  • Vegan
  • Organic
  • Incredibly sustainable

Their packaging pros:

  • 60-70% less plastic use than regular shampoo/conditioner bottles
  • The bottles are made from post-consumer plastics and cardboard (=compostable & durable in the shower!)

The Review

After one use. ONE USE. I could tell I was going to love this product. Everyone has been in an Aveda, right? Whether you like the experience, stylists, products or not, you can all admit that their products smell incredible! The Aveda product smell is so unique you can smell it from a mile away.

Well, Seed’s shampoo/conditioner smell like Aveda’s but 1,000X’s better. The smell actually lasted on my hair the entire day. I’ve never had hair care do that – ever! Beside the smell, the product felt incredible in my hair. It frothed/foamed beautifully, washed off easily, and left my hair feeling incredible. I was very impressed by this product and would easily make this my go-to, but…

Seed Phytonutrients

The Only Con

The price point is about 3-5X’s what I usually spend on my shampoo & conditioners. This is a major bummer to me as I believe that sustainable products should be attainable to the majority of the public. Yes, fair paying wages for workers increases the prices of sustainable & ethical products, but in order to create a wave of change for the public, I believe the price point needs to be comparable to that of standard products. At least closer than the current price.

So, with that being said, I think I’ll still purchase Seed, but sparingly, as a treat for my hair once in a while, until the price point gets lowered to something more attainable. However, everything about the company’s mission and efforts is incredibly commendable and I love the passion behind the brand.

I’d highly recommend visiting your local Sephora or Whole Foods to at least try their products and see for yourself! It’s a brilliantly made product and the people behind the company are genuinely the sweetest, most dedicated people working hard to bring their mission to life.

If you do try it, I’d love to hear what you think!
